Maria Laura Sanapo was born in Castiglione del Lago in Italy. As a child, she loved music and drawing superheroes and she was used to copying illustrations before she learned how to read and write. She studied foreign languages at the secondary school (she speaks English, German, and Spanish) and she took a degree in languages at the University of Siena. After that, she decided to follow her real vocation attending two of three years of the International School of Comics in Florence and then, taking lessons from her mentor and husband Marco Santucci.
