Arthur Adams is a comic book artist from Northern California. He is especially known and praised for his highly distinctive and detailed artwork, which is influenced by Michael Golden and Walter Simonson. Unlike many of the other artists working for the US comic book industry, his work is largely shot directly from pencils or inked by himself. A self-taught artist, he first came to the attention at the age of 19, when he penciled the limited series ‘Longshot’ by Ann Nocenti for Marvel Comics in 1985.

In his career, Adams has worked on many titles for Marvel, DC, and Dark Horse, such as ‘Batman’, ‘Superman’, ‘Spider-Man’, ‘X-Men’, ‘Godzilla’, ‘Vampirella’, ‘Rocketeer’, ‘The Authority’, ‘Danger Girl’, ‘Excalibur’ and ‘The Incredible Hulk’. He also launched his creator-owned, written, and drawn sci-fi series ‘Monkeyman and O’Brian’ under the Dark Horse Comics “Legend” imprint in 1993. He also had a ten-issue run on an anthology series featuring the character ‘Jonnie Future’ (‘Tom Strong’s Terrific Tales’, 2002–2004). Since 2010, He has been working on ‘Ultimate X’ for Marvel Comics with writer Jeph Loeb.

Adams has furthermore provided cover artwork for issues of the ‘Justice League of America’, ‘Appleseed’, ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, ‘Green Lantern’, ‘Hulk’, ‘The Avengers’, ‘X-Men’, ‘Red Sonja’, ‘Superman’, ‘Batman’ and ‘Vampirella’, among other titles.
